As some of us know, it takes a hell of a lot of work, consistency, and discipline to be your own boss. And I've been taking my self-care a bit TOO serious lately, but hey. Who's going to know what's best for me, better than me? Right?

I took a step back into the arts, painting and DIY-ing, made more time for my 'mani and pedi' sessions, as well as binge-watching 'Real Housewives of Potomac'. 😆 Y'all! I almost never watch TV intentionally. It's usually letting the kids pick, or it's watching ME, as I clean, talk or work. So I told myself that I would grab a glass (or 2) of my favorite wine, relax and find some sh*t on t.v that I could indulge in for once.

Then, it's back to work. Working for myself, trying to stay inspired and that damn word: 'Consistent'. Which are both hard to do when life hits you hard AF.

But with a corporate job, I could never really take time to grieve my father, or spend time that I need to with my family, let alone make the money that I KNOW I'm worth making!? And most importantly, I could never tap into al of my creative gifts that GOD has given me without being late to work or feeling like I had to 'shut up' to be seen, heard and appreciated just to say, "I have a job." Nope, not for me. And I've been aware of this my whole, entire life.

Having someone tell you when or when you cannot do something, the discrimination, etc., etc... GIRL, BYE! I would rather hold MYdamnSELF accountable everyday and celebrate these benefits and wins with my family ANY day.

Lastly, before this gets misconstrued:

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH HAVING A TRADITIONAL CORPORATE JOB. I just know it isn't something that is beneficial to MY health or my creative growth. It takes time for us to figure all of this out, as we experience our own live's circumstances, needs and wants. And being a flight attendant, in the near future is something that I have desired for quite sometime, but that's an exception I'm willing to make to enhance my, as well as my family's lives and best of all-- my SELFcare.

XOXO

It's October and we're almost through 2020.

Are you still waiting to launch your brand? In these unpredictable times, you have to depend on yourself and your creativity. So you should just go for it!

But then, there are the negative thoughts that flood your mind and you become overwhelmed with ideas, wondering which ones will or won't work? Stop! Just go!

Just a few things to consider:

- Go with colors that appeal to your industry and

audience. And make everything cohesive. (IG, too!)

- Plan out your business goals and TRY to be intentional. I say 'TRY', because...well, LIFE. Grab a cute planner from Target, make the time to PLAN out your content. marketing material as well. From experience, if you don't, it won't be as pleasing to the eye, and it will throw your audience off.

- Contact me! We will work to get your vision out in front of you, while assuring that we provide you with strategy and purpose, for either your branding and/or website.

"In all of the chaos, you must persevere."

And thank GOD for coffee, because BAY-BAYYY!!!

• • • I’ve faced a few challenges within my small business, but there’s nothing like some good ole’ experience!

Cooking dinner, while working, is LITERALLY my life though. I have my laptop on one counter and chopping onion and celery on the other. But that's a #BossMom for ya.

No complaints, just progress.

CHEERS to you guys leaping and being intentional with your dreams, goals and making them a reality! I’m on that wave and it feels DAMN good, seeing MY people persevere and prosper, Okkkuurrt!?

XOXO
